Elizabeth founded BARÚ in 2007 to engage untapped consumer groups with a new cross cultural perspective. With a 20+ year career in general and Hispanic markets, she is an industry innovator in multicultural marketing and media. A passionate business, strategy and marketing executive, Elizabeth has cultivated a high-growth agency that has made a positive impact in social and behavior change among hard-to-reach multicutural communities. She has led campaign strategy and development for government and nonprofit entities including Covered California, First 5 of Los Angeles, the California Department of Public Health, and more. Under Elizabeth’s leadership, BARÚ was most recently engaged to develop the Latino marketing initiatives for the Covid-19 Vaccine roll-out in California.
Her deep background in entertainment marketing brings the agency a keen expertise in bringing unconventional, big ideas to life. She has developed large scale multi-channel campaigns for entertainment companies including Walt Disney Studios, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, ABC Television Networks, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Fox Deportes and more. Elizabeth has also worked in an array of other category verticals ranging from Retail, Grocery, Consumer Packaged Goods, Alc-Bev and Technology. She has been recognized for her excellence through multiple awards, and regularly contributes as a thought leader and speaker at Think LA and Digital Hollywood events. Having lived in Spain, Brazil, and Mexico, she is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Elizabeth is a graduate of UC Berkeley.

As Co-Founder of BARÚ, Michael currently serves as COO and Head Of Creative. Prior to joining BARÚ full time, Michael served as VP of Creative Services at PlayNetwork in LA. After being accepted by The Director's Guild of America (DGA) in 2003, Michael spent three years as a Sr. Segment Director on the Dr. Phil Show. From there, he traveled internationally as a Field Producer and Director on various TV programs for Discovery, History Channel, and other cable networks. Michael was awarded an Emmy in 2001 for his network branding campaign with International Channel, and was soon recruited by Discovery Networks as Supervising Producer of On-Air Promotions. Michael is a graduate of Colorado State University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications.

Raymond joined the BARÚ team in 2017, he’s an accomplished marketing professional with over 18 years of industry experience. He brings expert analysis of local market data and understanding of complex media planning tools. Raymond’s knowledge and planning strategy expertise enables BARÚ to deliver the right balance and mix that is needed to build meaningful connections in local communities and deliver maximum audience engagement. He is bi-lingual and also a multicultural marketing specialist. Raymond was born in China, raised in Mexico and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Cal-Poly Pomona, California. On his spare time, he’s an avid cyclist, foodie and enjoys the arts and architecture.

Leading the digital team at BARÚ, Jeremy develops and implements strategic digital initiatives that span all screens and drive audience engagement, brand lift and revenue. Obsessed with bringing new and innovative ideas to the space, Jeremy is never satisfied with the status quo and is continuously exploring ways to connect brands to relevant audiences. Over the course of his career, he has worked with leading internationally recognized brands across the entertainment, sports and retail verticals including AMC Networks, Hulu, the NBA, Apple Music, Expedia Inc., Bluefly and Uber. Jeremy has a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University with a degree in Hotel Administration and will challenge anyone to a tennis match.
With over 15+ years of experience in the advertising industry, Edgar has shaped a number of world-class multicultural campaigns for brands in the US and México in the following categories: Retail, Telecommunications, Music and Entertainment, Government, Automotive, Packaging Goods, Pharma, Alcoholic Beverages, Financial Institutions, Home Improvement, among others.
As Creative Director, Edgar upholds a passionate drive for exceptional and purpose-driven storytelling. He is a hands-on creative leader, focused on driving business outcomes by delivering solutions rooted in human truths. He has led work and built integrated 360 campaigns that turn ideas into action across all media channels. Edgar’s award winning creative work has been honored by The New York Festival, The London Festival, Clio, Ad Age, FIAP, and more.
As account director Gema manages stewardship of campaigns and collaborates with media teams to assist in crafting integrated marketing plans across broadcast, digital, social, radio and events. Gema is a bilingual creative with vast experience in implementing culturally relevant content across traditional and digital media platforms. With a deep understanding of cultural intricacies, micro cultures, colloquialisms and the idiomatic nuances involved with effectively connecting and influencing multicultural consumers she is a great addition to the BARÚ team.
Carlos is an innovative account director focused on providing the most optimal strategic management solutions to clients. With experience in every area of the marketing ecosystem, he is always finding ways to elevate project and account management to a new level. In addition to having led some of the most renowned brands in multiple verticals, he has launched various business initiatives through his career. He has an MBA from The University of Texas at San Antonio and Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the distinguished Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. He maintains a very dynamic and active lifestyle — and participates in a full-gear, full-contact annual amateur football tournament in Mexico.
